Smoked Salmon Toasts
My obsession with smoked salmon is a bit out of hand these days. Any opportunity that I have to incorporate some lox into my meal, you bet I will. These toasts are perfectly traditional, yet absurdly tasty. They allow the smoked salmon flavors to really come through while adding the perfect complementary flavors.
Ingredients
High-quality sourdough bread
Butter
Crème freshe (or sour cream if you can’t find any)
Smoked salmon
Fresh dill
Capers
Instructions
Slice your sourdough to desired thickness (I like mine with some build, but not too tall that I can’t bite it). Pop your pieces of bread in the toaster.
Once your bread is toasty and has that nice color to it, spread a thin layer of butter over it.
Follow that by a hefty dollop of your crème freshe (or sour cream alternative).
Layer up your toast with smoked salmon, fresh dill, and a good amount of capers. (I always tend to over do it on the capers because let’s be real, about half of them fall off anyways).
